Friday, November 11th marked the launch of Alice Temperley’s new book True British: Alice Temperley, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the brand, with a private event at the Temperley London store on Melrose Place in Beverly Hills.  The hidden storefront was the perfect venue for a ten year anniversary party.  Emma Roberts hosted the event–
looking stunning in a white beaded top and long black skirt by the label– and notable attendees included Juno Temple, Lydia Hearst, and Rachel Zoe, all intermingling amongst the posh Temperley threads.

Celebrities, editors, friends of the designer, and socialites alike sipped champagne and thumbed through the 270-page hard cover book. True British offers an intimate look at the label, with shots of past campaigns and collections, inspiration pictures and copy, as well as, personal photos of the designer– including a full size shot of the designer’s son Fox whom the book is dedicated to. “I wanted to tell the story of the building of our brand and convey the distilled essence of how Temperley London has grown swiftly and organically with the work and determination of those around me,” says the designer.  The mix-matched assortment of imagery, sketches, and text give readers a glimpse into the madness of creating a fashion label.

While the book portrayed a more casual and rambunctious Temperley, the designer gracefully roamed about the party greeting each guest with a formal (yet personable) demeanor.  Fidoo had the opportunity to speak with Alice about her son and the success of the line.  “I’ve always been a bit of an outsider, approaching things differently than those who were formally trained within the industry,” Temperley was quoted saying.  Her unique outlook on life and fashion is apparent not only in the collection itself, but in the way she took the opportunity to discuss her son while at a party for her brand.  “I wear jewelry and other pieces with foxes on them now, because my son’s name is Fox,” she dishes to us.  Blown away by her charming manner– and stellar personal style– we’re confident that Temperley London will see another ten years of success under the creative eye of its darling founder.
